We Have Returned!

After a long hiatus, Lily and I have returned to the world of blogging!  YAY!

It's been a long year and three months with a lot of loss, but we have gained a lot as well.  I will inform everyone when the time comes!

In the mean-time, I will leave a picture of my now two-year-old Lily.

Lily's Doctor Visit -- 7 Months Old

Lily had a glowing review today at the doctor!  Her ears are great, her size is great, her everything is great.  It's a relief because there were concerns about her ears and allergies, but she's healthy as a horse.  A really small horse.

She weighs 18lbs 5.5oz and is 7 months old today (Yeah, we're behind with doctor's appointments).  She was so good, too.  She did not like being restrained at all for measuring, but I think it is because she wanted to continue to look around everywhere.  She didn't cry at all, but she did do a little fussing here and there.  Overall, a successful visit.

We also ended up going to Target and purchasing some new socks for Lily and a trainer sippy cup so we can get her used to it.  I doubt there will be any trouble with it -- she currently gnaws on a bottle of water for teething and she tries to drink out of my cups when I'm drinking.  There is no rush at all, just something to get her in the mood for it.

She's been eating apples and rice cereal lately and we got her a squash to try today.  I hope she likes it!

After Target we went to Kroger, then to CVS, then back home.  After a looooong morning she and I both took a 3 1/2 hour nap.  It was nice!

Right now Lily is rolling around on the floor in the living room, avoiding the mat I set up for her to play on that has her toys on it.  Of COURSE she rolls on the floor, not the nice clean comforter I put out.

Lily is not crawling yet, but she will be soon.  She gets into a crawling position and bounces a lot.  It won't be long :)

Life of Lily Bud

Well, Lily has has a big couple of days.  Every day is Christmas for Lily!  Cute little bundle of fun...

Saturday she finally got to meet her other grandmother and her Aunt AB.  She was so good!  Definitely knows how to leave a good impression.  I'm sure they would never know she could be a fussy butt when she wants to be.  Yeah, she knows what I'm saying.  She's trying to look cute and talk to me right now, like, "No, Mommy, I'm always a good girl!"  Yeeeeaaaaaah riiiiight.  But she's adorable anyway.

Her Columbia College Aunt Naomi sent her some cute outfits for Christmas.  If you read this, thank you Naomi!  You rock!  They are awesome!   I will probably post a bunch of pictures in a post or two showing everything off.

Teething has definitely started.  She's gumming everything she can get her hands on.  Including Mommy.

Other than that, things have been really chill.  She likes Pokemon Snap.  More on that, later :)

Santa Baby: Lily Met Santa Today!

Lily's Great Aunt Melanie took us to see Santa today! The day started off great, with Lily having a full tummy and in a great mood. We left before school let out so we could beat the crowd. Lily fell asleep on the way to the mall, which was good because she wasn't cranky when we got out to wait in line.

We got her out of the car and into the sling so she'd be ready to wait.

We got into the mall, and right there was Santa! WITH NO LINE!!!! We went right up to Santa and got her picture taken. It turned out so great! I'm really excited to share it :D

Isn't it adorable?! :D Thanks Aunt Mel!

Lily Update!

Lily is 14 weeks old and is growing like a weed! She wants to sit up and walk so bad! But, of course, she still needs to roll over first. She is getting better, though. When I prop her up against a pillow she starts doing baby crunches to try and sit up on her own.

Her Great Aunt Melanie brought some things from a friend of hers (including the chair seen in a previous post) and there was this cute Christmas outfit we were not sure she would still fit in.

Well... it fits! Look how freaking adorable it is!

She's so awesome. She also has started cackling when I change her diaper. She also thinks it is funny to kick the powder container out of my hand -while open- when I am trying to powder her bottom.

She has also started to play with her feet if she can reach them. She likes chewing on things, too. Like mommy's hand, fingers, arm... whatever she can get into her mouth. It isn't cool when she grabs my hair and yanks it. After giggling she will stick it in her mouth. Apparently my hair doesn't taste good because she makes a funny face afterward :)

Lily- Week 2

I'm a little slow in posting week 2 thanks to moving drama.

Little Lily Bud has already been out to 4 restaurants since she was born, and not once has she cried or been upset. She demanded boobie milk twice, but other than that she was either asleep or just chill :) Such the little angel.

Now for some shout-outs because this has been an awesome week for Lily. As in, Momma won her some stuff! :D Most of which has already come in the mail.

From Swagbucks.com I got a free $15 promo GC for Ecomom.com
From Just By Living I won a $15 GC to Ecomom.com
THEN I won a $40 Ecomom.com GC from Consumerbell.com

I was excited to say the least, lol. Bought Lily 2 GroVia Newborn Diapers, two Newborn Kissaluvs hemp diapers, and baby face balm :)

Earlier in the week I got her WonderBumpers in. Won those from Couponing Shopaholic :) Pink and Chocolate.

From ToBeThode Lily is getting a Baby DeeDee Sleep Nest I won her :)

Not to mention the awesome Milkin' Cookies I won so Lily will never be without milk :) At least 'til the cookies are gone :) Won those from Life With Captain Fussybuckets :)

Earlier I won a BornFree bottle for Lily, but it still has yet to arrive. Thanks Raising My 5 Sons! That where I won :)

I've won some other things as well, but that's what Lily is getting :)

Right now she's sleeping in my arms. Cannot believe it's already been 2, almost 3 weeks since she was born.

Last night I set her about a foot away from me in the bed to sleep... I woke up and she was sucking on my shirt in her sleep. So precious :) I don't know who will have a harder time with her in a crib -- her, or me?

For all the stress around her, she's a calm and happy baby. She smiled and laughed at me today. I wasn't aware they did that this early, but she did. She still has dark eyes that look more slate grey than blue. They'll probably be like her daddy's dark eyes :)

Tike still likes to sleep around her. I'm dreading having to give him up :(

I'm hoping we won't have to...

Lily was having a reaction with little bumps around her eyes. It isn't like the newbie acne, but more like an actual rash. It's gone now, but I'm trying to figure out if it was something I ate or the cats or what.

Her cord fell off :D I'm holding onto it for now. Weird, yes, but I don't care <3
She has a little left, but I don't want to mess with it... I'm a wuss, I know!

And now we wait to post week 3 :) If I get the chance I'll post before then

So I figure...

I might as well blog about what I'm going through if I'm going to be blogging again.

I'm at week 38 in my first pregnancy ever. To those that don't know, I'm carrying a girl and her name will be Lily Isabella Skelton. At least, unless we change our minds at the last minute, but I think it will stick :)

I'll admit, I'm a little bit nervous about giving birth. I've already opted on a natural birth, but I don't think I can have the same luxuries here in Alabama that I would have had in the birthing center in South Carolina. I'm really bummed, but it's alright I suppose. I'm a chicken when it comes to hospitals, so I was hoping that I could give birth anywhere BUT a hospital. Oh well... we'll have to see how it goes.

I should probably post pictures of my belly when I get the chance. It won't be there much longer ;)

I'm slacking in my artwork, though I have done a few things I'm proud of. I say I'm slacking because, although I've been drawing, I've been perfecting tiny things instead of making big large pieces. I've been preoccupied with preparing for Lily, anyway, so I guess it isn't too big of a deal. I've been working on... a tattoo design! Of a lily. Guess why? It should be obvious :P Sometime I plan on getting a lily tattoo to symbolize Lily on me. It'll be small and hidden, nothing major. Of course, it's all if I don't chicken out :P

In different news, Lucky had another litter. That's two in the time I've been pregnant with my one. Only three made it, but good lord I was surprised when she had five! She's so tiny!! But we found homes for two, and I really need to find a home for the third. Sadly, I am HOOKED on him. I don't know if I can give him up now :( Cute little Vulcan... But we don't need four cats! Heck, we don't really need any of them, but Lucky is well, lucky, and Tike reminds me of my late Apollo, and Grim is Joseph's... and Vulcan is a mini Grim but with big, adorable Lucky eyes. Argh! So confusing...

We'll figure it all out, though.

I think I'm planning on taking an entire year off of CC instead of the one semester. I really want Lily to breastfeed as long as possible and think that it would be easier to just take the year off instead of having to leave Lily behind after only a few months. We'll see what happens. I don't WANT to transfer, especially because I don't think I could afford it, but... we'll see.

Other than that, I think that's about it.
